About Tara

Tara is a Clinical Fellow with the American Association for Marital and Family Therapy; a Registered Social Worker, Clinical Specialist (AB); a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist; Certified Multiple Addiction Therapist; EMDR specialist; a clinical hypnotherapist and practitioner of  Rapid Transformational Therapy; author of The Hologram Healing System, a trauma healing, transformational energy modality rooted in the practice of Applied Kinesiology.

Her practice, described as ‘systems oriented, neurobiologically, attachment and trauma informed,’ spans forty years. During  this time, she has worked in both independent  and public practice and with diverse populations including children, adolescents, adults, couples, families. She has also been an instructor of energy psychotherapy methods, as well as relationship and family therapy. Her belief is that, as humans, we are all “on the road” of healing and integration and that therapy, in one form or another, involves healing inner divisions that derive from emotional neglect, loss or trauma (“small and big T”).

Notably, Tara continues to teach and be inspired by her work and finds the ‘creative edge’ of bringing together conventional, “talk therapies” with bioenergetic, psycho spiritual approaches to be enlivening, exciting AND helpful to her clients. While strengths based and results oriented, she is also creative, collaborative and nurturing. Most often, she experiences a resonance with the people with whom she works and is grateful for the opportunity to journey with people who are on the path of meaningful change.

Tara’s creative pursuits and community involvements include: accompaniest for  Calgary’s Irish Cultural Choir; member of a Celtic East / Coast music band; board member of Shinah House Foundation, a charity that advocates for wholistic, integrative approaches to mental health care and for justice and healing within Indigenous communities in Canada.
